Welcome
This module of eight student centred lessons plans and activities for first year high school students, endeavours to provide students with the foundations for a conceptual understanding and a workable meaningful knowledge of energy.

Energy is all around us. It is in everything. Energy makes our lives possible and has the power to change things. It is, scientifically speaking, the ability to do work. The concept of energy underpins much of modern day physics and without an understanding of how it works, students will not have the necessary foundation required for future science study. As important as energy is, it’s abstract concept and meaning are poorly understood by high school science students. This module of work will work towards addressing this issue.

“And what is a man without energy?
                      Nothing – nothing at all.”
